Recovering rare earth metals from magnet scrap.

Rare earth magnets drive electric motors, wind turbines and hard drives. The neodymium, praseodymium, dysprosium and terbium inside them are hard to separate, and today almost all of that work happens overseas.

We are developing a vacuum process that separates these elements directly as metals, without acids or solvents, so magnet scrap can become feedstock for domestic magnet makers.

Software runs through the process as much as hardware does. Every run is heavily instrumented, and AI models built on the physics of the process watch it live, adjust it as it goes, and learn from each batch. That makes each still run better than the one before.

Recyclers, magnet makers and research partners: we'd like to hear from you.
